According to a press release, on January 1, 2021, the admit card will also go live from 12 pm to 2 pm and from 3 pm to 5 pm for the admission. During this time, the admission process will remain stable, the release stated.

“It is the time for students, aspirants and their parents to move into the main rounds of the soft-passport validation process for the internal recruitment. This is a good opportunity to do this and retrieve the information you need to prepare for the appointments. The application form will be locked, the UPSC will strictly adhere to the guidelines on confidentiality,” the release stated.

The release also stressed that no candidate who has an entry-level job at the police level will be eligible to join the police service. Applicants with such jobs will have to undertake an additional test with e-GCSE examination across regions. However, all other candidates from other levels and services (including those laid off due to scarcity of skilled labour), including those who already joined the police during normal times, will be granted temporary eligibility to join the police force.

“Officers of the rank of Superintendent of Police in the rank of Inspector-General of Police will be given admission at the lowest level level at all the police formations. While districts will accord priority to the under-graduates, UPSC will delegate an opportunity to provide entry-level positions to candidates with an undergraduate degree in law and serve with the police in a future call-up year, or police Training Service. All aspirants shall ensure registration for an interview with UPSC,” the release stated.
